Default Shock Absorber Leads to Trouble

I got my 2003 X Type a month ago. It needed tires and rear shocks. I did that. Last week I started getting a clunking sound from the rear of the car.

I brought it to a local shop where the owner knows Jags. He has several customers with them and has owned them himself.

He discovered that the shock had broken off of its mounting location and he told me he is going to have to have a piece made and welded on.

He also told me to do this they need to remove the cars interior. The auto body shop he deals with was going to check it out today.

I wondered if anyone has ever had this sort opf thing happen.
Thanks

the back seats will need to be removed to fix the broken shock mounts. its not hard and it is only a few bolts. No worries.

Good Luck,
The Dr!
