No rhyme or reason..The problems seem to be mostly centered with units that the lube has dried up in..keep them lubed well and they should last as long as the car..So yes, In general

There really isn't much you could mess up - unless you forget to refill it. Gravity does most of the work. Besides, the kit comes with directions and big pictures.

Evenly distributed though there are a lot more autos in my area. The most common cause of failure besides leaking out all the fluid is getting stuck in the snow, spinning the wheels at high speed until one wheel contacts dry pavement, BANG!!!

Hi Guys,

To answer some of the questions;

1. Rosemont83, with the kit, I don't see how you could screw anything up. The instructions are very concise and there are plenty of pictures. It (literally) makes draining and refilling the TC easier, quicker, and less messy than changing the engine oil & filter. The kit includes a pump calibrated so you pump in the correct amount.

I don't think Aamco (or any other commercial shop) could drain & refill your TC as well and as accurately as you can.

2. Jvegas, the kit is $110.00 including shipping in the US & Canada. GB adds an additional $20.00 for international shipping and I assume that the extra $20.00 would cover shipping just about anywhere else too.

If any of you have any specific questions on the kit email me and I will be glad to answer them to the best of my ability.

McJaguar,

I sent you a reply Sunday night. You should have gotten it by now.

I have two kits available for immediate shipment and the parts to assemble another 6 kits on hand.

Let me know if you haven't received the email I sent you.

Bill

Nice work on the t/c kit Bill
Have you managed to reverse engineer and upgrade the air scoop yet??

Jim

Thanks for the kind words.

I'm toying with the idea of a spring loaded air scoop but my next real project is a remote filter for the auto tranny with provisions for drain/refill. The real trick here will be getting all the old fluid out (ie. a "flush" of some sort without the attendant chemistry experiment) and refilling to the correct level sans the Jag recommended "Heat the tranny and fill till it leaks" routine.
