I think that got locked too quickly.. I would like to discuss a little.
What sort of squeak was there to begin with? my car has a slight noise that sounds more like the horn contact... imaging the sound of humming a squeak with your mouth closed softly.. that is what I hear.
was your sound like a good old fashioned loose power steering belt squeak? or something more subtle?
haha.. noises are very hard to type hehe
Bo,
the reason it was FAQ'd and locked so quickly was as has been said before, for everyones benefit. It keeps the post short, straightforward and simple, which is what a FAQ should be. There's nothing worse than looking at the FAQ section for sumthing and having to trawl thru post after post to find it.
As you have that problem on your car and you want to discuss it, as I'm sure others do I have included the link below to the topic Buck posted that I made FAQ.

Cheers

the replacing of the main seal was just a temp... fix, same seal we took out was the same one we put in no different.. but made lots of money doing it.. but this additive works great can't believe the 2-3 oz makes the noise go away.. i like the symbol on the bottle a dead fish lol

The noise is a squeel type of noise and not very loud.I noticed it on mine around 2 years ago.It was only noticeable at slow speeds when turning the steering wheel left or right. It sounds like its coming from the top of the steering column just behind the steering wheel (at first I thought it was the steering wheel catching the shroud on the steering column) and was annoying but I lived with it as when it was first diagnosed asI found out that it could be leftwithout causing dangerand I wasnt prepared to spend £400 getting it fixed.
When a possible fix came along for£31.78(or £3.50 DIY) then I thought it was worth trying and now I am glad I had it done..

Ask your dealer for part number C2S48887 or the other part number on the same bottle is 7X43 3F823 AA
Its labelled as 'Additve PAS Fluid' 50ml
Its a very cheap cure if it works for you.

Let us know how you get on with it Bo and if it cures your problem?
Are you doing it yourself?

I guess I'm the unlucky one...I just had this added by the dealer (under warranty) and it didn't do anything...I guess I'll head back and see what they say.

It may not have been done correctly. The TSB is pretty specific. I never use the thermometer, but I do the rest. It has not failed yet. Although I must say I miss replacing the seals. good job and paid well. Also good use for the 4 inch prybar as a marker.

I love it. My mentor was great when I was apprentice. Taught me a great deal. Now the role is reversing a little and I teach him as much due to the new technology and gadgetry.

I just wish warranty was a little more liberal with there times...lol

Hmmm ;(

i do this today:
3000rpm in idle, then rotated to stop the steering wheel to left and right, every 3 times.

In this Moment came a very loud noise from the motorarea when i moved the steering wheel and the power steering reservoir is empty (today morning full).

What i do? ;( What happens?

This is kinda of simple but complicated at the same time. I have the same issue, out of the blue is started to squeek when I turn the steering wheel left or right. But there are times when its fine and then times when it squeeks its really random....
