Default Starting problem (1 click & no turnover)

Can't get my car started. When I turn the key, I hear the 1 click as if the starter solenoid is trying to engage but no crank. Have had success in the past by passing the solenoid with a screwdriver and having someone start the car. Now when I do it, I am just blowing the starter fuse. Can anyone help me out try to diagnose the problem properly? I've also recently replaced the starter because of the problem but it's still happening intermittently. Frustrating as f.

Can anyone offer any help whatsoever? Link or advice to try? Thanks!

Maybe starter relay, or loose connection.

I went through a long process figuring out the same symptom, but likely a different problem. My issue ended up being a bad instrument cluster. Start with checking the fuses. You said that you keep blowing the starter fuse, but is this only when you jump the starter or even when using the key? What I have learned is that any electrical issue seemingly anywhere in the car with prevent it from starting.
Check for codes
Check all fuses
Check relays (swap with similar ones in the relay box)
Check fuel pressure
Check if you can jump the starter relay
Check if you can jump the starter

If a fuse keeps blowing you likely have a short.
If all fuses check out, relays work, and no fuel pressure then it could be a short somewhere/poor connection, PATS, bad cluster (IC).
If you get this far there is a great diagnose sequence you can do on the OBDII connection point. It is listed as for an S-Type on the cover, but works for us too. It's an 18 step process to centralize where your issue is.
FYI- If it is PATS or IC then you will need to have a Jag dealer/specialist reprogram a new one.

Oooops, forgot the most important and easiest part. First check your battery and grounds. This is the most likely culprit and the easiest to fix.
