I have a 2003 X-type, I put new battery in and car cranked right up for teo weeks and stopped to get gas and car wont start until it was jumped, I turned it off and drove home and turned it off and back on and like it never had a probkem. Any ideas what it could be.

 

gglass, first off, welcome to the forums. I think you will find lots of useful information here. But, we are a quirky bunch in that we like to get to know one another and as a result we have become a more close knit group that you won't find elsewhere. As for your problem, what you are describing is most likely a problem with your battery cables. These are known to give random issues and you may even see other electrical gremlins poke up periodically. Now, before you run to the dealership and buy their cables, if you have even mild mechanical ability, you can replace the cables yourself. The big thing will be removing the cables and taking them to the parts store to match up the cables that they have there to what you have. Just make sure to disconnect the battery end first and then go from there.

 

Yeah that ground cable seems to be the culprit for quite a few owners on here
