Steering rack minor but persistent knock/play

Steering rack minor but persistent knock/play

I'm experiencing a small knock/play from the steering rack, seems to be limited to the driver's (USA) side and only at very low speeds or in wide turns. Could feel from the inner tie rod with my hand when replicating noise at park. Replaced inner tie rod, no change, it's just vibrating onto the tie rod from deeper inside the rack (or beyond?). Steering joint behind pedals is fine. Steering seems otherwise fine, alignment generally very good (will get a precision alignment when problem understood or resolved). Is something loose or broken inside the steering rack? I have yet to see any info that suggests these racks are adjustable. Any ideas? New rack in order? Thanks in advance!
