Default 1992 Steering Rack Centering

Hello, about a week ago I installed a rebuilt steering rack in my '92 Sovereign. The RH Inner Tie Rod was shot and I was getting a groaning from it in cold weather, so I decided to replace it.

The new rack is in with new Moog outer tie rods. When installing, I measured the tie rod end lengths and centered the rack before connecting the steering column to the rack. The car was aligned and now I no longer have a severe pull to the right when braking.

I've noticed, though, that I can turn the wheel to the right more than to the left. About 1.5 turns of the wheel to the left and about 1.75 turns to be right. Shouldn't this be about equal?

I don't remember having a difference like that with the original rack. Do I need to do some centering procedure with the new rack?

The original and the replacement racks are both the Adwest style.

Thanks,
Nick

So I've figured it out, I think when I reinstalled the original rack.

There's a little allen plug that you can remove, and apparently there's a centering pin that you can screw in when you're installing the rack that'll keep the rack centered. I just checked to make sure the little hole was visible when I connected the lower steering column to the rack.

Thanks,
Nick
