Stereo died--few questions
Car is a 2002 x type
So the radio died and I went to Crutchfield and the kid at the desk has no info on wiring, could only print out removal instructions so I bought a double din jvc and they gave me the wiring plug that fits jaguar so my questions are:
Do you think the speakers will be correct on their plug?
Will the steering wheel controls work or do I need to buy the kit?
The disc changer never worked so I assume that is the fiber optic line?
Just wondering if anyone has used their install kits...
Thanks

Wahoo, if you need the diagram for the stereo, let me know. I can send you the wiring schematics for your car. I think you will find them very beneficial for what you are about to undertake.
As for the steering wheel controls, those will not work unless you get the special kit.
As for the disk changer, with the new head unit, odds are, you will need to get their special disk changer. A lot of companies require you to get their changer, not just use whatever is out there.
If you have any more questions, let me know.

Ok--just hooked everything up and it was fine except the double din unit will not sit flush no matter how much you fettle with the wires in the back--hits part of the hvac or something--anyway I was able to secure the top torx bolts but not the bottom so I used the ashtray to hold the bottom in so no worries...
