Was asked somewhere what the last 6 digits of my VIN was to see if the motor was compatible or not with my vehicle (and it wasn't). Now, I'm looking at sunroof motors on ebay and I don't know what to look for to see if its compatible. All the info says is '2002-2008 jaguar x type' with the serial code on the part.

So, is there a way to find out if its suitable for my car?

 

There are 4 part codes for the sunroof motor in the JEPC, see below.
Until C06087: C2S3825
C06088 - C98706: C2S18093
C98707 - D79851: C2S29596
D88174 onwards: C2S36219

It seems that C2S3825 supersedes to C2S18093 and C2S29596 to C2S36219. See here:

However, in JEPC the three earlier part codes are marked with "supersession" and only the 4th one has a price listed. Yet, on the David Manners website C2S18093 doesn't supersede to either of the later two, and the price is different too.

So basically I have no idea of the compatibility...
