Default Removal of onboard telephone contacts list

I am about to sell my X-Type and wish to remove my on-board telephone contacts list from the on-board telephone. The list appears on the touchscreen even when the telephone is not connected. I have looked in the appropriate manual but without success.

Help please!!

Don't you just love Jaguar BlueTooth - it's a nightmare to get it setup and once done, you can seem locked together for life!

The BlueTooth setup is common across the Jaguar model range so what works on my XK8 (and previous XJ8) should work on your X-Type.

The sequence is to switch the paired phone OFF, 'unpair' the phone and then leave the ignition OFF to clear the PHONE BOOK from memory. The procedure for this is:

1. press the PHONE button
2. enter ##3#*# on the keypad
3. press the PHONE button
4. switch the ignition OFF
5. wait at least 6 minutes before switching the ignition ON again

I've found this is not always reliable and the Contacts can still be retained. For complete safety, I unpair and then pair with another phone that has no Phone Book entries.
