Is there any reason why I couldn't use a Ford fuel pump?
It will be much cheaper and faster if I can.
The engine is pretty much the same as the Fusion/Mondeo, so shouldn't the fuel injection system be the same?
Oh, and since Thermo will inevitably read this I want to thank him for all of his help in my previous thread. It turns out it was a fuel pump issue, but I changed the IMT o-rings anyway as they did indeed look like crap and one was leaking.

If the pump is the same except for the brand, then of course you can use it.
The Xtype does have some communication between the pump and the fuel injection computer. so the electrical part needs to be the same, not just the physical fit and the pumping performance.

I don't know if the the pumps are interchangeable..but the X-type has actually two pumps..both in the fuel tank and the tank must be dropped to access them..One pump keeps the saddle tank level on both sides and the other distributes the fuel to the engine of course...But since this car was/is a FORD product there is a good chance these components have common ground between the Jaguar line and Ford lines.
