Default throttle body assembly

2002 X-Type (vehicle details added by GGG)

can anyone tell me how expensive and hard this is to replace. Can I do it myself or does it require a mechanic.

pew, not to sound smart, but we need to know what year/model car you have. This can greatly affect things. It can be cheap and easy or it can be a real PITA and cost you more than you care to admit to.

Welcome to the forum pew4449,

I've moved your question from General Tech Help to X-Type forum. Members here with the same model will be able to help.

Please follow this link New Member Area - Intro a MUST - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the New Member Area - Intro a MUST forum and post some info about yourself and your vehicle for all members to see. In return you'll get a proper welcome and some useful advice about posting to the forum.

I think the big thing will be the cost. You can get used units for normally around $400. If you buy a new one through the dealership, you can plan on spending about $1600. I wish the news was better, but that is the short of it.

Now, there is a service that you can send them your throttlebody and they will rebuild it and that costs like $200. But, then you are without your vehicle for the week that this service takes since you are shipping it to the place to be rebuilt and they then send it back to you.
