ticking noise in sump area
hi
i have a 2001 jaguar x type 2.5
when i start up engine is quiet once it gets warm i can hear a ticking noise from near sump area this noise quietens on acceleration and returns on idle but gets louder once engine is hot apart from that engine is perfect on emissions
anybody have any ide
a what problem is or can point me to a reliable jag mechanic as this is my first time as a jag owner thank you

autocat, I would say to get your hands on a stethoscope and see if you can narrow down where the ticking is coming from. Based on what you are describing, it is sounding like iti s a lower crank bearing that is getting sloppy. But, to access the bearing, you have lots of stuff that you need to disassemble to access it.
