Default Tips for radiator replacement?

Waiting delivery of a new Behr radiator (Rock Auto) to put in my 2004 3.0. Removal and install looks pretty straightforward, but thought I'd ask about any tips y'all might have. Looks like the fan shroud assembly comes out the top of engine bay while radiator comes out from below. That correct?

Both the fan/shroud and radiator come out from the underside. There's workshop manual available as a pdf online. Check the sticky on this forum for a link.

Not going to attempt downloading JTIS. Tried doing something similar years ago with a different computer that resulted in serious virus problems. I do have a Haynes manual and have been reading pertinent sections. I don't have a lift of course - do I need to get front end up fairly high?

JTIS is an .exe, the pdf is much safer. As I recall, you need about 18 inches of clearance to get the rad and shroud out.

Hi swingwing

The pdf is safe to download, I just downloaded it for my 2003 x type. I'm attaching below the media fire link from the sticky. If you are worried about viruses, you can PM me for an explanation on how to open up the guide pdf in linux, which isn't really affected by viruses unless you are extremely paranoid!!

Anywho, if you do download the guide, the most relevant pages for removing the cooling system and radiator are p 973 - 1004

Good luck, I might do the same soon as mine has a small leak

I have the JTIS CD from the dealer that I copied when I worked there. It has NO VIRUS and it will work on cars up to 2004.25.

If you want to visit someday I can give you a BURNED copy. It loads on Windows 98 to Windows 7. I use Windows XP & 7 and it works fine. It might work on later versions??
