I am looking at buying a 2002 X-Type 2.5 Auto with 100K. From what I gather from reading this site, I'd be very well advised to make sure the transmission has either 1) been changed or 2) was not subject to the recall. The VIN is C22xxxx. Carfax says it's a one-owner vehicle, no open recalls and the history shows regular trips to the dealership for maintenance, etc.

Someone had mentioned that one can also tell by the transmission's serial number, and I would like to know where on the tranny that number is located.
