pimmuje, well, I have been one that has written about this and contemplated doing something myself. The short of the story, YOU WILL BE THE FIRST!!!!!!!. Whatever you do, you are blazing a new trail. So, record what you do, see what it does, and let us know.

With what has happened in the last 10 years or so, I think your best bet would be to find the transfer case out of a Ford Focus RS. These are rated for atleast 400 WHP. So, that is going to match up to what you can easily get out of the 3.0L motor with bolt ons. From there, you will have to get an adapter plate to make the RS transfer case bolt up to the Jaguar 3.0L (Ford Duratec 3.0L) motor. Now, is this going to be the cheapest way. Probably not. But, I can almost guarantee that it will be the easiest. The other way is bracing the current transfer case and in short, do you know the places where things are being overloaded, by how much so you can then figure out how much bracketry you need and in what directions it needs to be mounted to stabilize the case? You might be able to get some good ideas if you do a lot of research and find say 10 transfer case that have split due to case failures. Now, some of the cases did not necessarily split, but the bearings trashed themselves. This is due to a supposed too high of pre-load being put on the bearings in the early transfer cases, causing them to exceed limits when the car was pushed to its limits. Granted, this never came to be a recall or the like, so, how true, who knows. But that would be something I would pay attention to as you are looking to push what the components are looking to be able to handle.

I have walked down a similar path. If you look up "Thermo mod", you will see I have a recommendation out there about a new upper control arm that you can get for the X-Type. This is not something that I would have just tossed out there without having done some research. I understand the path you are looking at. I just think it is a bit more entailed than you are thinking. I will end this with what I think you are going to find most to say is that "take that money, invest it into a true track car and it will be cheaper in the end". By the time you figure in what you spent, time invested, and general frustration, you can get that Ford Focus RS and have all the sport you need. You then would also have a forum that people belong to that can tell you how to tweak that up to do even more. Yes, it would be cool to have, but the practicality of it is not there. Honestly, you would probably be better off converting the car to rear wheel drive, sliding in a V6 and putting a turbo on that to drive only the rear wheels. Lots of structural work up front. But, that is fairly easy. I think you hard part at that point is integrating the ECU of the new motor into the wiring harness of the Jag, but there are adapters for that.

What my idea was to put a go pro under the car and bring the car to the limit to see what direction hi move.
if I know that I want to buy a spare 1 and weld some extra aluminium rods on it.
so you make the case lot strong on all the places.
