Yes, I don't what code you're referring to, but transmission fault codes can be attributed to a faulty TCM (transmission control module). That's how I bought my X-Type, it was on it's way to the junkyard because the transmission was faulty in many ways. So I'd researched it online and found that the way the car is designed, rain or car wash water can enter the firewall and/or sunroof drains and get the TCM wet (It's located in the drivers side footwell behind the fuse box, by your left foot). I took the TCM out and looked at it and it was stained from dirty water on the outside and inside of it. The forums say that when replacing it, you need to bring your jaguar to the dealership so it can be re-programmed to be compatible with your car. I'd also found on the forums that if you are lucky enough to find one that matches exactly, then it is just plug and play. So as a result, I went to the local junkyard and bought one for $10 out of an X-Type with the same year and engine size. I brought it home and noticed that almost all the numbers on it's sticker matched mine. I plugged it in and disconnected the battery for a couple hours to reset the error codes, reconnected the battery, and the car has been running great ever since.

To be helpful we need just little more info. First are you getting the message "Transmission Fault" in the instrument panel message center?
If you are does shutting the vehicle off and restarting it clear the message center?
If it clears it does the message come back after driving the vehicle?
Does the message stay on at all times?
If it is on at all time it will be necessary to get the codes read with a OBD scanner that can read C codes. Most of the free auto parts stores can only do P codes.
You could try having it scanned at a transmission center that does foreign transmissions. Once you know the code numbers you can post them and we can try to give more help.
