Default Transmission fluid clarification castrol, help

Hi everyone,

I have 2002 Jaguar x-type and I looked around in the forum for transmission fluid and I found some ppl say to use castrol import multi-vehicle atf and some say to use TRANSMAX FULL SYNTHETIC MULTI-VEHICLE ATF I know some said it is the same and they changed the name but when I looked at Castrol website here in Canada they provide both so, that made me think twice if they are the same why did not take one of them off the website.

so that take me to think they are different and I am looking to know what is the different and which one is best for my car.

Hi
I've used both the jaguar trans oil and the castrol multi import.
No noticable difference in my car.
I've not heard of the transmax

Castrol Multi Import is what I use in both of my Jags, because it is the correct spec, and just to seal the deal I add Lucas trans conditioner. To say I am a little paranoid about my transmissions is putting it mildly......Good Luck.......Mike

To quote myself in another thread, this was the only transmission fluid I could find that specifically listed our transmission.

The ATF fluid was tough to find one that works, the Red Line is the only one I saw in the states that specifically states our transmission. Let me know if you have an opinion on this fluid as I'll probably order it tomorrow. $100 for 8 quarts is a lot for a transmission change done at home.
