Default Transmission lurches when shifting in lower gears

I've done as much research as I can.
I'm brand new to Jags. Well versed in most German vehicles, but I'm lost on this Jag
2002 X-Type 3.0.
The car will lurch(throw you back) in the lower gears. Almost as though it is slipping at high rpm. Drives perfectly fine with exception of the hard shift.
Was parked with a completely dead battery.
No codes. From TCM or PCM
car will throw a transmission failsafe if shifted from D to manual selection. But goes away when car is turned off then back on.
possible bad TCM? Throttle Body? Shift Selector?. I've read that the TCM may just need a reflash?
Just hoping that someone has had the same issue as i cannot find the srefresh?
Thanks in advance

Before heading to the high dollar solutions, I would first check and make sure the fluid level is correct. Sounds like it may be a little low. Depending on how many miles you might want to consider a fluid change.

at roughly 162k miles. Tranny service will typically be done on any vehicle I pick up.
I will be doing a TB clean just for safe measure as well

Tranny is significantly better.
took the time to charge the battery fully.
Removed Fuse 32 and 36 for 10 minutes
I'm leaning towards TCM needing a flash. Apparently the car did it for a while before I got it
still gets tranny fault if shifting from D to manual selection. Likely needs work on selector.

The tranny fault is a common problem when shifting like that with the J Gate shifter. Jag didn’t make it so that every gear has spot where the shifter can “click” into with every movement of it. Say that the J Gate is very very picky when used manually and all it take is for it to be slightly between gears on the shifter handle. Car will be in say 3rd but the shifter is seeing slightly past 3rd and throws the fault.
