Default Turbo cleaner

Hi has anyone used ARCHOIL AR 6400 as a turbo cleaner?
Not sure if it's available across the pond but offered here for petrol and diesel.
I don't have a problem but the thought of keeping the turbo clean appeals to me.

Why not just do the "Mr. Muscle" way? Pretty inexpensive and fast.

Thank you for the input. I think I have seen most of the alternatives and that's why I ask "has anyone used the AR 6400"
How long by the way did it take you to do the Mr Muscle?

After buying my 2.2d last year I put a bottle of AR6400D-MAX in a tankful of diesel, as a preventative maintenance measure.
The car was running fine prior to the treatment, the car ran a touch smoother after.

Approx 2 months ago I checked the smoothness of the turbo vanes by unclipping the actuator arm, the vanes were a bit stiff when the actuator arm was pushed back.

I have now drilled and tapped the manifold and done the oven cleaner trick, the actuator arm is now completely free !

Previously I have also fully blanked the egr, so all good.

Paul.

Default Turbo

Thanks Paul. Very informative. I will try a can in the tank and wait until I get problems before I go drilling holes in my turbo.
Never thought to unclip the operating arm to test That is a good idea and tomorrows job.

By the time you get badly sticking vanes, the actuator will have been damaged/ stressed.
I strongly advise preventative action, to save the actuator.
I would not recommend the "leave it alone if it is working, sort it out when it goes wrong" mentality !

Also make sure that the arm fully extends and retracts end to end, so to speak, quite a few people have assumed that when it goes tight, that that is it's stop position.

Default Turbo

Thanks Paul. That's why I am thinking the Archoil might do the trick,
I will check that I get a full deflection on the arm. I will post the findings.

OK unclipped the actuating arm and tried it today.
Feels very free no drag at all and a positive stop at each end.
I will put the Archoil in the tank I don't see it can do any harm. Very pleased about the turbo. I would expect the EGR to be clean too.

The archoil will decoke the head/exhaust valves, and some less effect on the turbo, as well as clean out the fuel lines/pump, and injectors.

Don't assume the egr valve is clean, and especially the inlet manifold, as the egr sometimes get cleaned/replaced, but the inlet manifold rarely gets cleaned.

Last year I cleaned my egr valve, which had 1mm or so of crud, but the inlet manifold was approx 10mm thick, and also the inlet valve and inlet ports were very thick with crud.
