Default Turned 100k miles, weird smell coming from vents, and body panels warping

Hey dude,
Just turned 100K miles in the 03 X-Type, and she's running great. I was close to trading her in for a new CTS, but didn't because I am not over her yet and she hasn't pissed me off - why start up a $600 per monthly payment for no reason. Just got tons of service done over the last 5,000 miles; brake fluid, coolant, transfer case, differential, fuel filter, fuel injection, tune up, main belt, rear pump belt, and regular 5K oil change . Only thing left is some kind of transmission service, but no one wants to touch it. Oh well, she feels good except for an occasional hesitation, then blast of power when coming out of a turn, but I can never reproduce the problem when there is a mechanic with me. A Jag expert told me that it could the car trying to transfer power AWD power, but stopping the power shift.

Smell:
I am getting some weird musty, amonia smell coming form the vents. When the A/C is on, it kind of goes away, but is definately still there. Any ideas of what needs to be done?

Body panels:
I noticed in the wheel wells on the edge where the panel is rolled in, it is un-rolling in a few spots, like it popped out. Maybe road debris caused it, not sure. Is this happening to anyone?

Thanks dudes

wow, ammonia inhaltion = lots of blood, and brain damage lol. Hope its not really ammonia. The warping could be caused by a warm climate couple with road debris. Or a dumb guy woring on the car. It dosen't sound like it would be caused by the wheels since their not rubbing

Hey there Humy....congrats on the 100k....sounds like she's still in good shape too.
Only around another 350k+ to catch up with the one in Uk that covered around 350k in 3-4 years and is now around 8 years old...lol

Re the musty smell in the cabin. It'll be your A/C system Humy. If you don't use it for long periods of time bacteria builds up in the system and smells like rotten eggs / cabbages / musty.
If you've changed your cabin filter you can buy an aerosol that you activate and leave on in the car with the A/C on full blast for 10 mins and this will certainly help.
You could also try accessing the fan unit and spraying some zoflora or other disinfectant type of spray and this will feed through your system effectivley killing the bacteria and the smell.
Once sorted, make sure you use your A/C regularly or it will build up again......the car is not a nice place to be with that stench either and can be stomach wrenching when really bad.

All the best
