Twin exhaust for 2.5L
All my (Quite extensive!) documentation suggests that the 2.5 and 3.0 X Types only ever had twin exhaust although the diesels do have only one outlet. Has someone been modifying yours?
The two cats at the front feed into one pipe that lead to the back and then splits into two with the two rear mufflers, one on each side hanging on left and right hand versions of the same exhaust hanger. I'd be amazed if your X Type didn't have the necessary mounting points ready for use on the side that doesn't have a pipe now.

I've seen diesel X-Types without any visible tailpipe (when viewed from behind that is), and I think the 2.1 V6 had a single tailpipe. If I remember correctly, there are modification kits but they are costly. Might've been Arden.
You're right, the diesel exhaust has a bend in it, right at the end, to direct the gases down towards the road rather than in the faces of those following and is nearly invisible! The 2.0l exhaust is the same. Looks like KRK_Jag's 2.5 might have a 2.0 exhaust system.
thanks for the quick rep guys! anyway i noticed my x-type has the hidden bend single exhaust. i was wondering if i get the twin exhaust will it affect my performance negavtively? i know u cant go too big and since im going from 1 to 2 exhaust it might be too much?
I thought, from the heading of the post, that we were looking at a 2.5l with a single exhaust. Is the car actualy a 2.0l?
I don't think the twin rear muffler set up would have any significantly bad effect on a 2.0 engine, but nor would it improve performance significantly - just looks better at the back! Don't forget that if you do have a 2.0l, the twin outlets would require a new lower skirt on the bumper with the appropriate cutouts to give clearance.

I'm actually wondering how a 2.0L model ended up in the US....???
Any half-decent custom exhaust shop could make you something up, and I dare say it'll be cheaper than trying to buy something off the shelf. The rear bumper finisher with the reverse sensors and the dual-cutouts for the twin pipes is a direct bolt-on too.
I know a guy in the UK with a 2.0L diesel who had a custom twin-system fitted up, so it can be done. Forget about buying something, you'll have to get it made...
