I have an 2003 X type that has two cup holders. I know there has been quite a few people that have complained about only having one. What year did they have two, and what year was there only one?

 

My 03 3.0 only has one

 

I've never used more than one cupholder in my car - and I'm married with two kids.

 

'05 gots 2 in the front and 2 in the rear!

 

My 02 has 1 in the front and 2 in the back. I can live with 1 but I wish it had 2.

My 05 has 2 in the center console.

They're awfully small though. Few containers will actually fit in.

 

I'm not sure whether it was 2004 or 2005 when they added an additional cupholder, but in 2003 they definitely had one. Previous owner probably made the swap.

 

yea what the hell were they thinking selling the car in north america....a meduim slurpee barely fits in the dang thing let alone the heart stopper.

Now can it be replaced/swapped for the one with two cup holders?

 

My 2004.25 has two cupholders in the front console. It also has the thumbwheel controls on the steering wheel.

 

2 cup holders here, in my 2004 X.. One is used for drinks and the other for change and my cell phone.

 

How does on go about replacing the one cup holder version with the two cup holder version? Where can you get the parts?

Previous owner had to of change console to a 2004 or later model.

 

You will have to search the salvage yards for a 2004 or later console and swap it out.

we have a slight problem

the emergency brake onthe 04s and up was relocated to the right side of the console instead of the right......

 

I've seen 06's and such with the E-brake on the left and 2 cup holders. I've been looking on eBay for quite some time now for a new center console with 2 cup holders. Most of the ones are from the UK so they have the E-brake on the right. In the US they did make 2 cup holder versions with the E-brake on the left though.

I guess I have a late model '03 with two cup holders. Can anyone tell me how to determine a late model from an early model from the VIN or otherwise?

 

Dude, I am from Dallas, my 2002 only had one so I went to a junkyard and bought a black one with 2 cupholders for like 100 bucks... it definitly looks WAY better with my grey interior than the original, plus it has like silver trim around them that add a little style... as far as install, it fit perfect for me, the only draw back is the 2 cup holders are a little smaller than the one large one. The "double" cupholders are fitted for like cans, I can push a 20 oz down a little and it doesnt budge... worked for me and looks 20X better haha

 

Ay my 2004 has 2 in the front by the hand brake and 2 in the rear arm rest.
