Default Upgraded HID; now those pesky running lights

I've just upgraded my low beams to HIDS (pics and a full wrtie-up to follow) and they look great. Now I need brighter (6000K) running lights to match. Looking through old posts it's clear that some have had issues with LEDs.

Has anyone had success with upgrading the running lights? If so, which type and where did you get them?

Cheers,
Dale

I've had good luck matching 5000k-6000k with these:

The "SMT Tower II". They still clear the bulb socket and anything bigger than 11mm diameter wont.

Dale, I upgraded my running lights to a set of 10mm 285K LEDs. They light up the main beam (high beam) lamps really nicely and are about the same brightness as the factory 5W bulbs. Unfortunately, doing this will take a little bit of work as this is not a straight plug and play thing. If you are interested in it, let me know.

I upgraded my running lights with simple LEDs, plug and play. I got them off http://www.v-leds.com/ I converted my entire interior lights with LEDs from this website and haven't had one fail me yet and I've been on them for close to a year now. Quick shipping and easy plug and play all throughout the car

I used eBay LEDs to do mine in Super White.. Looked pretty good until they burned out after a few months. Decided I liked how it looks better without the running lights at all, so I've just never replaced those.

I used higher quality LEDs like what Jeremy posted on my interior and have not had any issues with those since installing them earlier this spring.

Jeremy are those Tower II a straight replacement? And is it true you have to pull the whole bumper cover etc to get at the bulb? I looked under my hood at the placement of those little bulbs simply to unplug them, then went online and it looks like a bit of work is involved.

To replace your running light bulbs? You just remove the little cover from the back of the light assembly through your hood compartment. No need to remove your whole bumper to replace your running lights.

Also ordered these SIlvervision to get rid of that fried egg look.

If you don't want LEDs, the quality Japanese stuff (like Raybrig) produces the closest matching color to your HID kelvin rating. The cheap stuff is usually too blue or too purple - as it tries to cater to the less particular and more youthful JDM crowd - where purple and 12000k HIDs are king.

I also ordered my leds from v-leds and so far they have been great. They are not super bright though so I am thinking of replacing them with something a little brighter.

Yes mate, they're the small lights housed in the main beam compartment.

On another note, I like our sig name. I'm from Belfast myself, which part of the Emerald Isle are you from?
