Urgent part identification
Hiya
I've a 2006 2.2 diesel x type.
For reasons known only by god, I shut my bonnet yesterday with the battery cover still off!

The bonnet didn't quite shut and the battery cover cracked the part below which is connected to the water reservoir via a pipe. Water now drains from the crack emptying my water reservoir.
Please see the pictures below and help me identify the part.
Thanks,
Jonesy

jonesy, that appears to be a thermostat housing to me. I am not infinitely familiar with the diesel variants, but based on the hoses running to and from the part, that appears to be what it is. Should be a fairly cheap fix as the thermostats are not that expensive.
Likewise, I'm not familiar with the diesel at all, but it certainly is the thermostat housing. Before you rush to the Jaguar Dealer, see if you can get an aluminium aftermarket replacement such as is available for the petrol engined cars. They are a vast improvement.

Thanks guys. Got the hose for £17 new and thermostat for £40. Plus new coolant. Easy fix - removed 3 clips and one bolt. Lesson learned. Had already bought the plastic thermostat so didn't get the aluminium one.
If anyone else in the uk is reading this I recommend Quickco in Trafford park Manchester for new bits. They mainly do ford, but also do genuine jaguar parts. worth getting a quote.
