Je vais peut être poser une question bête mais, comment sait on qu'il est nécessaire d'effectuer la vidange sur une x-type. Je veux dire comment celle-ci est signalée par l'ordinateur de bord.

I may be asking a silly question but, how do we know that it is necessary to perform the drain on an x-type. I mean how it is reported by the on-board computer.

 

I have to assume with my limited french you are asking about oil change intervals. I run Castrol Synthetic Oil and change every 15,000 miles or yearly. A couple of my cars don't get driven often.

 

What is the year, and which engine does your X-Type have?

It's a 2002 x-type 2.0l V6

In fact I am just trying to find out if the on-board computer is signaling that it is necessary to perform a drain.

 

If you are asking just because you are curious, the X-Type never had a feature like that. I am assuming you mean somethng like it shows the life left to the oil or would notify you when it was time for service. If you are asking because you are seeing something in your display or some other warning, let us know what that might be.

 

Thank you. Before doing the emptying, I wanted to know if the onboard computer would tell me exactly when to do this one. otherwise everything is fine until now
