Hello
My 05 X type has been making really strange noises. When you start and drive it in the cold it whines and whistles and groans. Only when its below 40 degrees. I dont know if its something serious or just a weird quirk of the car? Anyone else have this issue? any thoughts or ideas would be great

Probably the same thing. People should consider searching before posting, because we already have many separate threads discussing this particular issue and scattering the information in multiple places just makes it even harder to find. Oh well.

My greatest worry is whether those embarassing whines, whistles & groans are audible on the outside. It truly sounds like it's seconds from death.

 

I did find the info. I will search better next time. thanks for the reply though! Yeah i was pretty worried something was comin apart!
