Trouble is, its that secret I dont even know about it.
Luckily when she had the Epidural she came back to her senses quickly instead of being in cloud cuckooland.

The labour was over 15 hours from 0930 Wed am..Pain relief critical...imagine getting kicked in the nuts for 15 hours (apparently).
The first pain relief was the TENS machine (electrodes to minimise nerve pulses) then when she got to 4 cms it was later in the day this wasnt enough and the dilations were very slow and the di-morphine wasnt enough as it was wearing off so she asked for di-morphine top up.They didnt want to give her more so advised more gas/air.By about 9pm still only 6cms dilated( 12 hrs and on drip(needs to be 10cms dilated)).Asked again for di-morphinetop-up or epidural.Given epidural at 2225, took 30 mins and thenshortly afterwards was10cms,put into stirrups and told to push.
They wouldnt give her anything thing that was bad for the baby, she was warned thatthe di-morphinecouldmake the baby a bit sluggish when she first emerged if it was later on in delivery.
She couldnt cope after many hours in labour and still only 6cms which is why shew opted for epidural.
The gas/air isnt really any riskand the toned down morphine in the form of di-morphine which had worn off before the epidural. The epidural itself is more of a risk to the mother as it involves sticking a needle into the vertebrae in the back to numb the nerve endings and so stop pain altogether...another downside is to have to wait 3 hrs to get feeling back in legs inorder to have a bath.
Cant comment on what Drs do over there as never been in a delivery room yonside.

We went to hospital wednesday night at 7pm eastern time...by 1-2 pm she had pains so bad she had to have epidural...the epidural can't be given after you've reached a certain point in the birth...the epidural seriously about made me pass out!!! By the time she had our son the following afternoon she got off the bed and had feeling to take a shower...although she did pass out!

Yeah for sure buck! Although my son is just now starting to not sleep! He used to sleep from about 8 at night til about 10-11 in the morning no problem...now he's up and wanting to watch cartoons by 7! No joke either! He's 8 months old and looks every morning and waits for me to turn it on...
