What does all this mean?
The 2.1L V6 petrol engine was marketed as a 2L in the UK to have it slide into the lower engine size classification bracket.
Something to do with the sales tax or registration costs over there.
The diesel engine variants of the X-Type were primarily only sold into European markets, not making to USA nor Asia/Pacific markets.
Those diesels were 2.0L and the later 2.2L.

It's the E11 (European) Type Approvals listing applicable to the vehicle. Manufacturers are obliged to display these but they are of absolutely no interest or use to an owner unless atempting to import/export the vehicle.
