What is needed to program car computer to accept new keys?
I got a phone call from someone who has lost his keys. ALL of his keys.
I can decode the lock and thus duplicate the key itself, but this won't help unless we can program the computer to accept new transponder chips. The nearest Jag dealer is a couple of hours away from him, and unable to make house calls. They gave him my phone number!
Can someone tell me everything that I need to get to do this, and what the procedure is? Since I will be (hopefully) counting this on my taxes, I need a single list, rather than hunting through various threads to collate the information.
Thanks!
