Default wheels??

XJR WHEELS
( road whl, 19x8-1/2 (alloy), 10 spoke, straight )
(road whl, 18x8 (alloy), 15-spoke )

XKR WHEELS
(road whl, 19x8-1/2, 5 spoke, XKR)

S-TYPE WHEELS
{road (alloy), 19x8, (5 twin spokes)}

will any of these wheels fit on a x-type?

also im thinking 18 or 19's, do 19's rub?

s-type wheels should fit, i know xk wheels will not fit, and im guessing the xj wheels will not fit either. Bolt patter on the x-type is 5x108, i believe the s type is the same. but my dad has the xk8 and his wheels have a much bigger bolt pattern.

any more questions just let me know!

Only S-Type wheels and Volvo wheels will fit. Most older Jags are 5x120 (same as BMW) and the newer ones (XF, etc) with 5x108 have massively staggered offsets. Four fronts from an XF may work though.

I think the rims on a STR are staggered so they may not fit correctly. The 4.2 S-Types came with a nice spoke wheel, try to find those.

Otherwise what is wrong with the OEM X-Type 18's?

Do you know the offset and widths? It looks like the factory ones are staggered according to some sites (8.5" front and 9.5" rear) like I have on my X-Type. I'll assume (you should verify) that it also means ET42 front and ET47 rear. In this case, your best bet if buying new is to get all four fronts (8.5"), or if you are a risk-taker like me or are getting a cheap used set, then stretch the same tire on the rear as the front to achieve the same overall diameter on front and rear tires.

You'll need 235/35/19. I don't think you'll get a 265/30/19 to work in the rear without rolling your fenders quite a bit - the stretched tire will give you more clearance, but confuse and alienate other American car enthusiasts who tend to believe in general that the best thing to do is put the widest possible tire on a given rim.

i have 16inch jaguar x-type wheels on right now,

im thinking of going with the jaguar x-type 18's but i want them in chrome.
any place in canada that would sell them or that would re-finish them in chrome?

money is also an issue i want to get tires and rims for $2000 Canadian or under so maybe going with an aftermarket rim would be best?

also "exexpat" those wheels on your jag look real good what are they, and how much did you spend?

LAwheelandtire on Ebay has some chrome Jag wheels. I had three sets of 17" bookmarked, I'm sure they may have some 18, too.

exexpat, i almost had a heart attack when you said that you were running a staggered setup on AWD. but then i read that you were running the same overall diameter so its all good. I would suggest though to get a square setup for xjagx

I got mine off ebay for $299+shipping for the whole set. I was stoked they were so cheap and I already had tires form my Volvo - so almost like they were free.

not a fan of chrome at all. that is why the cardomain x-types bug me. almost all aftermarket wheels are chrome. chrome just looks so much cheaper than paint (not the opposite, as you might assume).

Why would you have a heart attack over running a staggered setup on AWD?

I'll be running a pretty crazy stagger myself if these busters I ordered my wheels from would hurry up and get them out to me already!

Why does this surprise you? Any marque enthusiast base without a strong aftermarket following (basically anything not from Germany or Japan at the moment) is scared to death about anything staggered on fwd/awd, anything bigger/wider than the largest OE diameter offered, anything with spacers/adapters, or anything with tire stretch.

That is why I (and probably you) bought an X-Type, because they are nice looking cars and pristinely untouched by their owners. Lowering springs are even somewhat rare here. I love it.

And wgy are waiting so long to unveil? I'll tell you right now, you won't get the response you'll expect. In fact unveiling it on a BMW/Audi/VW/Nissan/stance/(even) Volvo site will drum up more excitement than waiting to unveil here. Most people viewing are service/reliability related here. Not being critical, I just came here with the same assumptions and am sharing what I learned.
