I have been curious I have always like the Type R model but just recently picked up a 3.0 X Type and was just curious or wondering if any one had done this, has pics, sounds clips or also thought of this

Although I haven't seen it done on an X Type a chap in the UK (Jon Marchant) has super charged a Mondeo Mk3 ST220 V6 3L, which is mechanically very similar to the X Type.

Incidentally he also converted it to AWD using the rear subframe, gearbox and drive system from an X Type.

He documented the whole project in great detail so you should be able to find it. After reading it however I can't imagine many people would attempt a similar conversion.

Looked like a HUGE undertaking so obviously he's young and single.

 

I could imagine the time and the money that was spent on doing the entire thing, but I appreciate your response its one of those what if questions.
