You don't have to pull off the intake manifold to replace them. It just takes some smooth careful manipulation to get the new o-ring on with the bottom set.

Default O-rings

i replaced mine last year. Its not difficult to work the o-ring over the valve just in cae you're considering. Also replaced the power booster line at the same time.

If access to the lower IMT valve is tight, you do not have to remove the valve fully. Just slide it out far enough to see the old O-ring, remove the electric connection and slip old O-ring off the back, to install roll new O-ring on.

thanks for the time saving tips...i read another thread here which stated there were 2 ways to instal them....either removing the intake or removing the engine brace bar.

I still may remove the intake as now may be a good time to replace the lower intake gaskets...i repla ced the upper gaskets a few months ago...i was in a rush and didn't have the extra hour to do the lowers.

IMT gaskets will be here in a couple of days so i'll update when i instal them.
thanks again to all

This is a good opportunity to do a full tune up (depending on mileage) there is no other way to do the rear plugs other than pulling the intake. I take the opportunity when I do IMTs to do a full tune up with plugs, PCV valve, airfilter, fuel filter, injection system clean, etc... If it's not due for those things than slipping the o-rings off the back of the valve is much easier and saves a lot of time.

realmcenter...thanks for the info....i replaced the plugs last month when i had the upper intake off to do the upper gaskets.
When i bought the car there was some kind of black silicone smeared around the IMT valves, so i know the gaskets are probably shot.
on rare occasions the rpms will drop a tad when coming to a stop then go back to normal....it feels like a vacuum issue...barely noticeable...but i'd still like to address it.
When the gaskets arrive i'll try installing with the intake still on

Default I replaced my IMT O-rings

I replaced IMT O-rings in about 15 Minutes. The only issue I had was the Bottom sensor is a very tight fit and you have to be patient but it will come out.

Jaguar O-RING VACUUM SEAL FOR UPPER INTAKE MANIFOLD CONTROL VALVES - C2S40669005

This is where I got my O-rings. The Old ones were Yellow , dried out and flattened. The new ones were Green and they fit very snug with a little lithium grease to make sure they slid on nicely and the sensor slid in smoothly.

So far this has fixed my car going into limp mode at 2900rpms

Thanks
