Whining Noise..
i hear a light whining noise when i first take off to drive at very low speeds coasting at like 10-15mph.. i searched around and see that its more then likely the transfer case or maybe the rear diff. what are the remedy's, fix or maintance that needs to be done.
BTW, hello to everyone, i just recently joined and i have a 02 X-Type 2.5 "Sport Package".. i love the car...and glad to be apart of the forum..

welcome.
please take note that more common than a whining t-case or diff is the prop-shaft bearing.
Using the search feature, you'll fine MANY, MANY threads related to each of these noises, which will help you to be a little more sure before you start throwing money at it.
Once you're certain, the "what next" threads are written quite well in the FAQ's, including the T-case and Diff lube change, and the Prop-shaft bearing lube / "to lube or not to lube"....

Welcome, and a few things come to mind, T, T, PS, and PASS, trans, transfere case, prop shaft, and passenger. Although the propshaft is more a lower pitch whoooo in a coke bottle...And dont even tell your passenger theyre whining, especially if its your wife.....your seats are comfortable to sit in but not sleep in...
