In my 2001 Jaguar X type(Auto 4wd) a whistling sound comes up from the front when ever I start to drive and it goes away after few seconds at a slow speed. Sometimes it stays on for long when maintaining slow speed. Any help please??

 

If it comes on at about 28-32 MPH there is a good chance it is the propshaft. There is a ton of information about that on here if you do a little surfing around.

 

I had a similar issue on my X a few yrs back. I think it had something to do with the chasis mounts and the dealer fixed it under warranty.

I will check my receipts and post exactly what it was later on..

Thank you so much for the infor. This is my very 1st Jag car. Fiji Islands as you know doesn't have any Jaguar Agent, nearest agent is in New Zealand $2000 USD shipping cost to and back. I was a Lexus person right from the beginning but had a dream to own a Jag which I did. I have done the surfing after I posted my issue but I am still bit confused. This sound comes and goes off. The road conditions are also not very good here, will appreciate Pete04xtype's posting.
