Will 3.0 replace 2.5?
I have 02 2.5 manual transmission.
If I need to replace engine, why not to install 3.0?
ECM should OK, I think, because it delivers fuel based on MAF signal. If MAF shows more air, injectors spray more fuel.

I have not done the swap. However, there is someone who has done it on these forums. Hopefully he pokes his head into this thread. The Lincoln LS engine is the 3.0 engine in a different configuration. As the Lincoln engine is mounted fore-aft in a conventional rear wheel drive car.
If you choose a Jag 3.0, it's very much the same engine (with more power)
I recall reading about another guy doing a swap and it, for the most part, worked out very well. Just a couple of minor glitches that may not have had anything to do with the engine swap.

SO I have a 2.5 that blew. I can easily find a 3.0. My car has a new rebuilt tranny so it's worth an engine swap for me. Do I need to change a bunch of computers? Since I have both engines and computers if I know what computers I need I can swap. Any help
You don't have to change computers, but you should have the ECM and TCM mapped to 3.0 specs, since the torque curve is very different, It will happily run without the flash, but If you're going to swap, you might as well take advantage of the extra power!
