Had the battery fully tested and recharged at Auto Zone. It only needed a 30 min top off charge. I also remember the battery voltage flashing on the message screen as I was scrolling through the various diagnostics, pretty sure it was over 12V.

Should be 12.6V or higher (battery only i.e. engine off for some hours).

Sorry missed your comment earlier. Yes, all the pins are there and straight. I've spent a week chasing an electrical problem on my old bike only to find a wire with fretted insulation. I agree the simple things can be a pain.
