Default windows don't work

Hello everyone,
My 2002 X type sport is at the body shop due to a minor hit. The drives side rear door was replaced with a complete door from a salvage yard. The car is ready to be picked up except that the windows do not work. Is there a reset, or does this car need to go to a Jaguar dealer?

Thanks in advance

Ken, I would recommend checking fuse F91 under the dash to make sure that is good. It is possible that as they were replacing the rear door, they some how blew that fuse (would only happen if the car had the ignition switch on and they touched a specific wire to the chassis of the car). Granted, the other possibility is that the shop installed a door with a bad door module or pinched the wire when they were installing the door.

The only other thing that I could possibly see being an issue is that the GEM module has suffered a failure and for some reason the Global Close signal is always active. That would cause the windows to be commanded to close all the time and therefore there's a possibility that the windows would then not be able to be be opened.

If you need me to give you points to check, let me know.

Thanks. The body shop is resistant to try anything that involves a reset for fear of doing damage. The car is at the local Jag dealer today.

Ken, I don't want to make them completely flip out, but they reset the window modules when they disconnected the battery. That is the short of the story. Replacing the fuse is doing nothing more than removing the signal to the window computer to tell it when the car is running and when it is not. It kinda sounds like to me that they don't deal with Jags all that much and are more scared of the car than they need to be.

The car is back home. Everything works and the paint color match is perfect.

Ken, did they tell you what was wrong? Just curious. I keep a running record of issues we have and their fixes.
