I thought this too on my X.
But from visiting Jags X type seminar in Jan it turns out in mine its stained maple veneer (cos most drivers wanted it darker on the sport from research) with a plastic coating for protection if I remember.

I was going to say it'd be hard to fake that maple look on our cars if it were plastic. I figured there had to be wood under the coating because the wood looks as if it moves when you look at it in sunlight! Hey bo could you make a cover for the heat and cd players for our cars?

Who know's they all get around things! My cousin works for ford and actually works at the plant that also houses svt's workshop and said ford got sued from a guy that bought a cobra because his car didn't have the hp that ford advertised. Thats why ford changed the power rating from 400+ to 390!

No seriously, My best friend is a gay dude so i end up using sweeter than average words sometimes, i guess its just from talking to him i just pick up words and think its normal?

i was ripping on you biggie about the other thread taking an strange turn.andyou and aquill making the beast with two backs so when is the wedding, and can i wear capri pants with mandals to it?

Bojangels i would post a pic off myself but i was beaten with an ugly stick so i dont want to make anyone cry from the sight of me. But being ugly i still pull girlies at the club, there is much to say about having GAME and knowing how to dance!

Default Its real wood

I found the actual source of my X Sedan's wood trim entirely by accident. My wife and I were on the "Keewinaw" peninsula in the "UP" of Michigan, and stopped into a "factory outlet" store for things made of Bird's Eye Maple. Whiule my wife bought some cooking spoons ($25 each!), I asked the proprietor if he'd look at my dashboard to see if it was real, as I had wondered, also. When he heard that it was a Jaguar, he said no need to look, I know it's real, because I MADE IT. Turns out he makes all the Maple veneers for Jaguar, and when he showed me one ... no question. Exact match. So there you are.

Default Great discussion! Thanks.

Good to know that the trim is real wood. I have been asked, and have told people that it is plastic. So, now I know. Here are some recent pictures of my interior...and of my "mug." Thanks.
