If you're running 64bit (x64) you have to run Virtual PC for it to work.

I don't remember how I did it, but I have a JTIS version 1.3 that runs on my Vista x64 machine. It works off an Access mde, with no pdf's in the directory structure.
I do have the jjtis.exe in the C:\jaguar folder set to run in compatibility mode for XP SP2.
I'll see if I can re-create this install tomorrow at work (I have an identical box there)

1.2.3. I downloaded the JCD-1.zip, extracted it to a temp directory, ran setup, rebooted, and it works fine, with no special tweaking.
I think it may have been the CD I got off ebay that required the VPC.

Hi
The JTIS21 thread on the forum has information on how to install it on a 64 bit windows operating system (go down to post#3):

Still a little confused on Win 7 64 bit install. That's the only machine we have left with an optical drive, so am I stuck? I spent $26 bucks on the disk and can't get it to work and the seller is no help. Should I report him to Ebay? Bought the disk like two weeks ago and have had zero luck getting it to work.

Please advise. Thanks.

Hi
The only Repair Shop manual I could find on Ebay for $26 is this one:
01 02 2003 03 2004 JAGUAR S X TYPE R REPAIR MANUAL OEM | eBay

Is this the one you purchased? I just sent a email to the Ebay seller asking about instructions on how to install this repair shop manual.

We will have to wait to see how the seller responds.

You did receive the manual? But you cannot install it? What kind of files are on it (PDF or EXE files)? Is it the JTIS software?

Default Jaguar Repair Manual

Jim,

That's the one. Ultra Toolz has been little help. E-mail responses come 72 hours or more and with no help. First one: We help all. Next one: What seems to be the problem? (after I had already detailed the problem in the initial e-mail)

They also do not "fast ship." Took about a week to come from Chicago.

It is, in fact, the JTIS one. Says Jaguar on the label and: OEMJGR43X8

Just having no luck with the install. As I said, I get the interface. That works. Nice logo and such but when you put in year/model, etc., there's nothing there.

Not sure what type of files they are because I can't get to them. Does knowing it is the JTIS manual help at all?

I'm kind of tempted to ask Ebay for a refund. This dude is pretty explicit on positive comments, yet after reading buyer's comments, some people have experienced the same issues I'm having. If I wait too long, I'm afraid Ebay won't back me up.

Thoughts?

Hi and Welcome to the forum.
The JTIS shop repair manual has a model/year selection the X_Type model year 2004.25 (X405). The Engine section 303-01B lists 2.0L Diesel with specs, description/operation, Removal, Installation, in vehicle repairs, etc.

Here is a JPEC file I created that shows part of the list:

Name: JaguarX_Type20045JTISTextNavlisting.jpg
Views: 4946
Size: 111.7 KB

Hope this helps. Not sure if the 2005 X type is the same as the 2004.25 model.

Hi,
I found the full book (approximately 3500 pages) on ebay, bought for some spare change including delivery. It was a cd-r of pdf's.

I cant get the file to DL. It starts but then stops at about 10%. What is the point of having this if everyone is having a hard time installing it or cant understand it.

I just need a troubleshooting guide to fix my small problems. is it really worth getting the JTIS or an Ebay Manual?

yes, ebay manual consisting of pdf's is very good to have. And a real jag has no "small problems".
