Question Would a twin exit exhaust fit my X?

I'm after a simple bolt on aftermarket exhaust for my 2002 X-type. Problem is I'm in the UK, I have a 2.0L with a single exit exhaust. I was wondering if I could buy a cat back twin exit (Like the 2.5/3.0) and fit it on my car? Is it just a matter of the extra hanger on the right hand side or is the front pipe upto the cat different? Any help would be much appreciated, Thanks in advance!

l17led, the dual exit exhaust should fit on to your car no issue. If I remember the car right, the two headers form a single header just behind the motor (at the firewall) and then are a single pipe all the way back to the rear differential. Just before it crosses up and over, the pipe splits into 2 pipes (for the 2.5/3.0L motors). So, you get the dual exit exhaust and you should be able to fit it in no problems. just make sure to get the 2.5/3.0L rear valance with the dual openings.

Cheers Thermo, just what I thought but best to check. Already looking for a valance and I'm sure the hanger is already fitted to the underneath of the car so once I've checked that I think I shall be making a purchase. Now, what exhaust do I buy? LOL. Thanks again.
