Would the VW VR6 24 eingine go with my X-Type?
Anywa, My story. I changed my spark plugs and apparently pieace of ceramic went inside. I tried vacuuming, reaching with those tweezer things and blowing it out. Since there was nothing that came out or blown out, I cut the car out. It was making funny noise or whatever.
It's at the dealership, just to open it up and see the damage is running me about $320. If I need a new engine he said it would be between $5,000 to 6,000 I was like hhheelll no I rather donate the car and take the loss.
This car has been nothing but a nightmare since I bought it.
Just wondering if a VW VR6 24 engine can fit and compatible with my Xtype 2.5, I found a new VW VR6 24 with 0 miles for $2,000. Just kinda stumbled upon it....

With enough money and time..... anything will fit.
I do think you will far exceed 5-6 G's relatively easily with a swap like that. I mean you are talking an entire drive train. Engine, Trans, Wiring harness (not to mention the integration into the factory Jag systems)......
You can find relatively low mileage engines from a scrap yard. Swap to a 3.0 while u r at it.... will not cost anymore money than the motor.

htkenen, check out Brandywine wreckers here in Southern maryland. They have Jags on the lot and I am sure you can get a good used 3.0L motor from them. Not sure what they would charge you, but it would be a local place to get what you needed. I seem to recall they have like 5-6 Jags sitting on the lot right now.

There are loads on USA ebay
http://motors.shop.ebay.com/Car-Truc...del=X%252DType
and you would might get back a good proportion selling the parts off your knackered engine eg sump, cams, etc

Not sure where you are located, but here's one on Chicago Craigslist, but it's a 2.5: http://milwaukee.craigslist.org/cto/1533345296.html
Has transmission and t-case also pretty cheap.
