Default Jack stands

Ok I am going to be doing my first oil change on my x this weekend, weather permitting. And I have yet to jack the car up, where are the jacking points, and where should I put my stands once the car is up?

compdude, I jack up my car under the front edge of the door. I place the jack on the frame where the two pieces of metal are welded together and then I put the jackstand on the frame just in front of the jack. For the rear, I put the jack as far back as possible on the frame and then place the jackstand in front of the jack there on the frame.

if you come back about half way on the front doors and put the jack on the frame there, you can lift up the whole side of the car and then position your jack stands where you want from there.

Cool

I use ramps, but because the car is so low, I use about a 2 foot long 2 X 6 laid low on the ramp about 6 inches from the lower end, which allows the facia to clear the ramps.
