Default X type 08 Apline Amp

Hi,

Ive just brought another X type to replace my older high mileage 2.2 and its got the alpine audio system in it, but the audio is very lower and has hissing / fizzing sound when anything comes though the speakers.
this is via the radio, cd or satnav, has anyone seen this fault.
my thoughts are component fault in the amp causing the noise in the audio channels.

any ideas would be great.

Thanks
Steve

if you have the alpine amp you will have DSP on the display when tuning radio stations. all the audio is fed via the optical cables to the amp in the boot that then converts to electrical signals that drive the speakers, there is no link between the radio unit and the speakers. chec the optical connections are all firmly in place.

Fixed the problem, there was corrosion on the bottom of the circuit board that was causing it arc in two spots, one component had lost its legs and solder pad from corrosion.
Repaired the unit. all is working well.
