X-Type 2.0 Diesel intermittent start
Hi
Sometimes when I turn the key to start the engine it does not start at all. It makes no sound just does not start.
I turn the key to off, leave it a while and sometimes it will start. Other times it needs a bit longer. I take the key out, start again and it may or may not go. Leave it a while longer and great, phew, it goes.
It seems to be getting slightly worse so thought I really need to do something about it.
Had a Modeo once that did the same thing. In the end I had to take it to Ford to get it re-programmed. I feel Jaguar may be more expensive.
Is this normal for an immobiliser issue? Other forums are saying there is a clicking sound.
