Hi, I have just had my fuel pump throw a wobbler and cause the car to break down 200 miles from home. RAC man cam and looked at the codes which indicated low fuel pressure etc so I know it's time to change the pump. Anyway my question is this, as the x type is basically a ford mondeo, will the mondeo fuel pump (which is identical) give the correct fuel pressure and therefore be the correct replacement? I ask because the jaguar pump is £277 and the ford pump is £90. Has anybody replaced their fuel pump and had any issues?

adesxjr, the Mondeo pump should work just fine. But, I can not garantee that as Ford does not sell the MOndeo here in the US. But, a lot of things are shared between the two and the fuel system is not that unique.
