Hi all,
I am hoping someone can help me, I have a 2002 x-type, 2.1 petrol automatic. the car was working fine up to the other day when the gearbox started playing up it runs fine in reverse but when I put it into drive its pulls away ok but when it changes gear it just revs and wont engage. when you turn off the engine and start it back up the car won't engage in drive at all for at least 5 minutes then it reverts back to the original problem. I've only had the car for a couple of weeks and had been running perfectly until this, the car only has 75k on the clock with a full service history.
Can anyone please help and advise me of what the problem could be.

Gearbox oil level could be low.
