My X Type central locking is giving problems, I have replaced the battery on the remote and disconnected the battery however the problem remains. From time to time the passenger doors (all Three) will not open when the remote is pressed (once or twice). So on a regular basis you can not get out of the vehicle other than by the front door. Sometimes you cannot get into the car as the three doors will not open. Any one with simlar problems or a solution would greatly be appreciated

sir richard, you're saying that you cannot even open the front passenger door or the rear doors when you're experiencing this problem?

My question is if you unlock the front passenger door by hand, do all the other locks unlock? Also, is this the case when you unlock the drivers side door by hand as well?

 

I have had this problem the passanger door deadlocked and stayed deadlocked be carefull . Had to force door card of spent days trying to open it threads were saying chisel lock mech of I put my phone in between door videod itseen a slit in mech I bent a small screw driver put in slit fiddled around wile pulling lever for bit and pop it opened I have never deadlocked since but the locks will only lock if I press the lok on passanger door if I use fob it locks then unlocks straight away

 

I have a 2008 X Type 2.2D Sovereign Estate.

The Central Locking is working OK. The Electric Windows are working OK.

However, if I leave a window open and try to close it by holding the LOCK button on the Key Fob for more than 1.5 seconds. the car locks but the window doesn't close ????

Can this be RESET by us mortals or is a bank loan job at the Jaguar dealer ?

 

I cured the problem, it was the windows that needed reprogramming. Simply holding the UP button for >5 secs then DOWN for >5 secs for each window has reprogrammed them and the Full Closure now works.

I had a problem last night the door that was playin up would not lock I couldn't lock it no mater how hard I pressed it it was jammed. I phoned a breakers this morn changed complete mech central locking all works perfect now that one was causing all probs got it for 50 pounds bargain . If ur doors keep playing up by not unlocking from inside and out change loch mech b 4 it stays locked then it ball ache trust me

 

Did you manage to solve this as having same problem.
