Default x-type common issues?

So i searched for problems, issues and nothing really came up.

I am considering a 2007 wagon with 131000 miles. What issues are common with these cars? thanks

The wagon-specific issues might be:

The rear wiper motor gets seized up due to water leakage and corrosion.
The rear glass switch goes bad.
The glass latch itself goes out of alignment.

So check to make sure both of these things work well.

The X-type has issues with air leaks around the intake manifold, oil pan gasket leaks, transfer case failure, prop shaft bearing failure, and all sorts of electrical failures of the gadgets inside the cabin.
I don't know why you couldn't find any reference to these things - this forum has them covered numerous times.

Look carefully at the lower A pillars. That's where X Types fatally rust.

With that many miles you want to make sure the transmission/transfer case are in good working condition and have been maintained. Unless you are getting the car crazy cheap, those are expensive repairs. Little plastic bits get old and break too. Headlight adjuster screws break off on most x-types, but can be repaired with a part. Transfer case seems to be the major thing, I think they run out of oil and people drive them too hard. Other than that, I've seen people on here with 175,000+ miles. They can be a bit expensive to maintain and repair because they require good parts and usually more labor than average cars, but if you can do some of the maintenance yourself, it's a fun car to work on and you get a lot of help from people here on the forum.

I recall seeing some really horrific photos of such rust on early versions.
It was also stated that the fault in draining water had been fixed on later models so I would not be concerned about a pillar rust with

Not sure if Jaguar locking ( security) wheel nuts are fitted in the US.
If so ask for them to be romoved and refitted ( to the correct torque )
This ensures the removal key ( socket ) is presentand all works OK

Ensure you have two fully working ignition keys.
Replacements can be very expensive and difficult to source.
If the keys supplied have been cloned then you cannot create further keys.
