Default X Type firing on 3 cylinders

I have an X Type Jaguar. It has done 130,000 miles. I have it serviced at a Jaguar centre. Recently on occasions when I start the car it seems as though it is firing on 3 cylinders and on pressing the accelerator there is no response. When I switch it off and on it starts perfectly and runs beautifully. Has any one had the same problem and how did you fix it??

From Mykki
The Car is a Jaguar X Type on a 55 plate, September 2005 with a 2 litre diesel engine which is serviced regularly at a Jaguar Service Centre.
I have had it from new and have treated it well.
At the last service done in June 2015 I was told one of the injector valve's was a little loose, the other three were fine, and this one was leaking alittle fuel.
I hope this can lead someone to advising a cure for my firing on 3 cylinders problem.
Regards
Mykki

Welcome to the forums, Mykki. There are a lot of very helpful people on here, but with most of the members being in the United States it might take longer to get a reply because the diesels were not sold here. Hope someone chimes in soon and can help you out. Good luck with your issue and hope you can get it sorted soon and that it is an easy painless fix.

If it is an injector, or injector valve as I think you know it as, It may be leaking after you shut the engine off, and losing diesel fuel. This would cause air in the line, and air won't let the fresh fuel to the injector, until it is pushed out and the fuel is able to pass. I don't know what type of diesel injectors you have, and I only worked on VW, and Mercedes diesel engines, but I think either going to a breaker, or buying a rebuilt injector would solve your problem. Any kind of leak in a diesel system, once it leaves the pump will cause what you are describing. If one of the pipes is leaking at where it comes out of the pump, or where it connects to the injector, it would cause the same problem. Hope my SWAG, or Sophistacated Wild A$$ Guess(pardon the spelling) will help you out. Take care.....Mike
